MoTG Update

Madonna of the Garden with some of the beading done. The beading is going much quicker than the cross-stitch, especially now that I have the correct needles!

MoG, April

I missed my March goal by one day, finished the cloak on April 1st. I've more than made up for it since then, though! In the past week I've managed to do mostof the leaves on the bottom and a good portion of the border at the bottom. Posted by Picasa

Madonna of the Garden WIP

As of 3/3/07. My goal is to finish the dress by the end of the Month, then spend April and May on the remainder of the stiching. June is for the beading. If I keep this schedule, I will be done by the one year mark!

I am tired of the dark blue (in between the arm and the body). If you look down at The Quiltmaker, the mother's entire dress is that color. So, I'm sick of it!

Madonna of the Garden Update

As of noon this afternoon. I hope to make my goal of finishing in early June. Once I have the veil finished, I just have the background and beading to complete. Posted by Picasa

"The Quiltmaker" Finished

After almost two years, I have completed The Quiltmaker just in time to give my mother for Christmas. I chose this because when I was in tenth grade, she helped me make a quilt for a Geometry project. I thought the theme fitting for her sewing room as well. Posted by Picasa

Flanged Pillow

Made this for my front room. It has that blue toile thing going on, but the cheapman's toile because I got it at Wal-Mart. I liked the pattern though. The front has this 18th century Neo-Classical thing going on, and the back has both a washerwoman and a hunting scene.

My experienc with toile is that it has an obligatory washerwoman scene. Sometimes with the vase of water on her head, sometimes without, but there's always a woman doing laundry.

Too true. Posted by Picasa

Purse

This purse was made from Butterick Pattern BP440. Very cute bag, but a bit large for an every day purse for me. Might use it as a knitting bag or book store bag. Posted by Picasa

MotG Work-in-Progress

This is my current cross-stitch project. The design is Madonna of the Garden by Mirabilia. I loved the design because it reminded me of a Renaissance painting. This picture was taken on June 26, 2006. Posted by Picasa

Why a new blog?

This is not my first blog, but my second, after starting one on Yahoo! 360. Ran into some technical problems there, especially people who, having received the invite, wasn't sure what the 360 thing was all about. Well, this way, I can just give them the URL and they can see.

I wanted a separate blog to showcase some of my craft-work projects past and present. I wanted a place where I could show Works in Progress without having to put a webpage together.

Hopefully soon I will be able to modify my template and personalize the background.

Hope you enjoy, and let me know what you think about my creations!
